Describe your Virtual School’s local arts and cultural offer

  • We supported our young people to attend Artslink events run in Worcestershire in 2018, working with different types of visual arts - screen printing, felt work and clay modelling. 

  • We ran an Artslink performance and arts day for children and carers at The Courtyard Theatre in 2019.

  • We have worked with the Courtyard Theatre in the past, they have gifted us tickets to shows and once bought all of our attendees an ice cream!

  • An independent Artist named Meg Evans who did a printing work shop for us.

  • CLAN CIC have done lots of work with us throughout the summer holidays previously such as felting/mosaics sessions.

  • We devised and promoted the Artslink Poetry Project to all our young people.

  • We've done various other activities with professional artists, such as Christmas crafts, story/music sessions and pottery sessions.

  • We plan to run a day call African Beats, inspired by The Lion King, at The Courtyard in Spring 2022.

Are there any arts & cultural organisations/venues/events you’d particularly recommend for care experienced young people in your area?

  • The courtyard were running outreach drama groups in the market towns before Covid.

  • We have sent on information re the Grayson Perry touring exhibition, Knife Angel and workshops, Worcs Vamos to those in the area.

  • Our Participation Team run events in each school holiday which include some arts activities.

  • We've done various other activities with professional artists, such as Christmas crafts, story/music sessions and pottery sessions.
