A Toolkit and Covenant for artists and arts organisations working with, or looking to work with, care experienced children & young people in the West Midlands
What is ICE?
Part of Artslink's role is to help connect care experienced children & young people (CYP), via Virtual Schools, to the artists and arts organisations in their area who are experienced and equipped to work with the care system.
ICE allows us to connect up the region's care experienced CYP, their key adults (carers, social workers, designated teachers, etc) and their Virtual Schools with artists and arts organisations who are experienced and equipped to provide high-quality arts & cultural experiences with an understanding of the particular needs of the care system.
Artists and arts organisations carrying the ICE Badge will be able to give reassurance to Virtual Schools and other stakeholders in the care system. Through its unique connection with all 14 West Midlands Virtual Schools and a growing mailing list, Artslink will be able to:
Maintain a database of ICE artists/arts orgs for potential use by the programme and by individual West Midlands Virtual Schools
Where relevant, publicise relevant activities through our online platform:
Where relevant, use our mailing list to publicise relevant activities
N.B. ICE is not quality assured - we aren't an inspection regime! - it is a trust-based covenant which assumes that those signing up will honour its intentions.
If you'd like to sign up and carry the ICE Badge (which we'll send you), have a look through the Toolkit below and follow the link to sign the Covenant.
Please click on the image to download the PDF of the Toolkit. This is a new scheme which Artslink is trialling, so the Toolkit is likely to evolve, and we hope that ICE signatories will help us shape it further into the future.
